Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Technician to join our team at Havtech. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program systems utilizing direct digital controls and automation systems for comfort control and energy savings.
  • Configure programs, graphics, and alarms for site-specific control systems.
  • Create installation, submittal, and as-built drawings, and assist engineering in related close-out documents.
  • Assist with final validation of system operation.
  • Provide project team with technical direction and assist with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test, and startup as required.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools and test equipment, and maintain tools and equipment for proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage time and job needs across multiple projects.
  • Serve as a direct customer contact, provide training, and sustain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, communicating with staff, and providing customer feedback.
  • Some travel with occasional overnight stays.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of experience in control/mechanical systems are required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project, and engineering drawing tools.
  • Familiarity with the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit, and service project management.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in contracting processes associated with the installation of building automation systems.
  • Familiarity with the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls.
  • Alerton Controls and Tridium Niagara AX experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Customer service-oriented, able to interact with and build a good rapport with customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers and team members individually or in a group setting.
Work Environment

This position requires working at construction sites, in mechanical/equipment rooms, and possible extreme weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment. The employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock (high voltage); and vibration. The noise level in the work environment varies.
