Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controls Sales Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for garnering controls revenue and achieving margin goals by supporting Havtech's mission to deliver exceptional customer service through the sale and execution of projects involving HVAC equipment, building automation systems, and mechanical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect to locate and develop relationships with new clients
  • Develop general working knowledge of Havtech offerings
  • Utilize account management processes for target customers
  • Develop and implement specific action plans that improve project closure rate and produce profitable business
  • Develop and deliver presentations for prospective clients
  • Convert leads into opportunities and develop opportunities into win-win customer and Havtech projects
  • Work effectively in a team selling environment
  • Work with existing and prospective clients to understand project goals
  • Improve project closure rate through high-level business relationships
  • Collect and communicate pertinent project information required to create quality project estimates
  • Coordinate and attend site reviews as required
  • Develop project estimates for opportunities not involving design documents
  • Confirm project scope and bill of material with customers
  • Determine recommended selling strategy and initial pricing
  • Present the proposal and negotiate price and contract terms and conditions with customers
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current local utility incentive programs and leverage rebates to improve project closure rate and margins
  • Follow up with buying influences to secure orders
  • Coordinate or engage in the project execution process as required
  • Resolve deviations in scope with the client to preserve client experience and satisfaction
  • Consistently ascertain customer needs and current market opportunities
  • Develop positive relationships with Havtech leadership and employees
