Position Overview: The Collections Platform and Configurations Organization at T-Mobile is on the lookout for a Manager who excels in leading a team of technical professionals within an agile development framework. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in managing technical teams through agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in defining business and technical requirements, as well as designing and implementing strategies for collections decision engines.
  • A strong grasp of functional specifications, technical deployments, and inter-system relationships, particularly in credit and collections processes.
  • Expertise in resource planning for enterprise projects, with a clear understanding of deliverables, timelines, and budget management.
  • Skills in quality assurance and user acceptance testing protocols, with familiarity in tools like JIRA.
  • The ability to prepare and present materials to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team to achieve performance goals by providing clear direction, timely feedback, and coaching.
  • Monitor project tasks to ensure timely and budget-compliant deliverables.
  • Recruit and onboard qualified team members to enhance T-Mobile's capabilities.
  • Encourage a proactive environment where team members identify and resolve issues effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technical practices across the organization.
  • Collaborate with business teams and vendors to enhance strategies and address business-critical issues.
  • Establish best practices for software development and documentation to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with leadership and support teams.
  • Manage multiple product backlogs and priorities in alignment with business and technology partners.
  • Oversee the implementation of applications by analyzing existing systems and developing procedures for successful installations.
  • Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with experts to implement effective solutions.
  • Communicate business strategies and challenges clearly to inspire team action.
  • Maintain a holistic view of business challenges, considering technical, functional, and policy aspects to devise innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of industry experience in technical deployments and process flows.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience managing high-performing teams.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a creative approach to resolving issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to executive levels.
  • Proficient presentation skills for diverse audiences.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and strategic frameworks.
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of scripting tools (Python, SQL, HTML, Perl).
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with testing tools and automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations such as SOX and PCI.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in delivering large-scale business and technology initiatives.
