Position Summary

The UTA On Demand (MicroTransit Services) offers a responsive transit solution that links riders within Tooele County to various local destinations and other transit options. As a driver, you will assist both ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers, ensuring safe and courteous transport throughout the area.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialized transportation services to eligible passengers in accordance with Utah Transit Authority (UTA) standards.
  • Utilize an electronic tablet for operational tasks, including navigation, scheduling, and communication with support staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents and vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, including fluid levels and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to established routes and schedules, providing timely pickups and drop-offs.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills, particularly towards individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
  • A valid Utah State Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with road safety and driving regulations.
  • Knowledge of the local geography, including key areas within Tooele County.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A positive attitude towards serving the community.

Physical Requirements

This role involves:

  • Frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • Regular physical activities such as walking, reaching, and driving in various weather conditions.
  • Extended periods of sitting while operating a vehicle.
