Full-Time Custodial Technician

Role Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the School Principal and Head Custodian, this position is responsible for executing daily custodial operations, ensuring a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role emphasizes minimizing property damage and liability exposure while ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cleaning duties across various school facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, to maintain a hygienic and safe environment.
  • Deliver supplies and materials as needed to ensure all areas are adequately stocked.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff regarding safety and maintenance issues.
  • Conduct inspections of facilities to confirm cleanliness and identify necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for HVAC systems, including changing air filters and replacing light bulbs.
  • Address immediate safety concerns and operational issues to uphold a functional educational setting.
  • Ensure outdoor areas, including lawns and flower beds, are well-maintained and safe.
  • Arrange furniture and equipment for various school activities and events.
  • Collaborate with district employees and contractors to enhance the work environment.
  • Solicit price proposals from vendors for supplies and assist in procurement processes.
  • Attend training sessions to stay informed on best practices and safety protocols.

Additional Duties:

Perform other related tasks as assigned to ensure a clean and safe working environment.


Equipment Utilization:

Utilize hand tools and power equipment relevant to custodial work, including floor cleaning machines and vacuum cleaners.


Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment.


Work Environment:

This role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying weather conditions.


Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in custodial work is preferred.
  • Valid Utah Motor Vehicle Operator's license.

Employment Status:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits, including sick leave and annual leave.
