Position Summary

As a part of the UTA On Demand (MicroTransit Services), you will facilitate on-demand transportation for riders within Tooele County, connecting them to various transit options and local destinations. Your role involves transporting both ambulatory and non-ambulatory passengers with courtesy, safety, and efficiency, under the guidance of the Tooele County Mobility Manager.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialized transportation services to eligible passengers in accordance with Utah Transit Authority (UTA) standards.
  • Utilize an electronic tablet for daily operations, which includes navigating routes, managing driving time, scheduling breaks, and accessing live support.
  • Document incidents or accidents through clear and accurate reports.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and functionality.
  • Adhere to UTA guidelines, maintaining safety protocols while following scheduled pickups, drop-offs, and other operational demands.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills, particularly when assisting individuals with disabilities and mobility devices.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid Utah State Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Possess a working knowledge of road safety and driving practices, as well as familiarity with the geographical areas of Grantsville, Tooele, and Salt Lake City. Ability to work independently, adapt to changing procedures, and manage time effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and the public.


Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to lift 25-50 pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Physical activities include bending, twisting, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and balancing. Candidates must be able to drive in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
