Position Overview:
The Full-Time Custodial Staff plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Under the guidance of the School Principal and Head Custodian, this position is responsible for daily custodial tasks, ensuring that all facilities are kept in excellent condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cleaning duties across various school facilities, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas, to uphold a sanitary and safe atmosphere.
  • Transport and distribute supplies and materials to ensure that all areas are adequately stocked.
  • Communicate effectively with students and staff regarding safety protocols and maintenance updates.
  • Conduct inspections of school facilities to identify maintenance needs and ensure cleanliness.
  • Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for HVAC systems and other essential equipment.
  • Address immediate safety concerns and operational issues to maintain a functional educational environment.
  • Ensure that landscaping, including lawns and flower beds, is well-maintained and safe.
  • Prepare spaces for events and activities by arranging furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with district employees and external contractors to enhance the work environment.
  • Solicit and evaluate proposals from vendors for necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Attend training sessions to stay informed about best practices in custodial work and safety procedures.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Equipment Used:
  • Utilize various hand tools and power equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Operate personal computers for administrative duties.
Safety Protocols:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while using tools and equipment.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear as required.
  • Comply with the district's chemical hygiene program and safety data sheets.
Work Schedule:
Standard assigned hours with potential for overtime as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in custodial work is preferred.
  • Valid Utah Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Contract:
Full-time, 12-month position with benefits eligibility.
