Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical execution from conceptualization and initial design through to fabrication, testing, and production.
  • Design systems that facilitate expeditionary operations, ensuring intuitive setup and usability for military personnel, alongside modular sensor expansion.
  • Conduct trade studies to explore early design options, collaborating closely with technical subject matter experts and business development teams to identify optimal solutions for current and future capability gaps.
  • Work at the nexus of software and hardware integration.
  • Establish product milestones, lead technical design reviews, and guide cross-functional product decisions while managing engineering risks.
  • Coordinate the production of prototypes and low-rate production items, as well as subsystem and system-level testing efforts.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that resource plans align with the scope of work.
  • Support remote troubleshooting and operation of deployed systems.
  • Engage in hands-on, in-field testing.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive verification and validation plan for the complete system.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior role overseeing system design and development from initial concept through to customer delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Expertise in data analysis, rapid prototyping, and early-stage customer deployments.
  • Hands-on experience in building and prototyping complex robotic systems.
  • Familiarity with mechatronic design principles, firmware and software system architecture, sensor physics, tracking and calibration, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to technically engage with leads in mechanical, electrical, firmware, sensors, and robotics software domains.
  • Capability to lead a cross-functional team through design trade-offs while adhering to program deadlines.
  • Strong sense of ownership and a mission-oriented mindset, with a commitment to ensuring the product meets customer needs.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A genuine commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for test planning and execution.
