Position Overview:

The Claims Processing Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the intake of overage, shortage, and damage (OS&D) claims. Working under direct supervision, this position involves collaborating with team members to facilitate effective communication and documentation between customers and internal stakeholders at J.B. Hunt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and manage new reports of cargo discrepancies, adhering to specific customer requirements.
  • Support the OS&D claims team by performing various administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, data entry, documentation, and drafting correspondence.
  • Handle OS&D claims intake through multiple communication channels, ensuring information is directed to the appropriate parties.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 0-1 year of relevant education, experience, or training.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in making timely decisions under pressure.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Basic deductive reasoning capabilities.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.

This position does not qualify for employment-based sponsorship.

Compensation Details:

Starting pay may vary based on skills, education, experience, location, and other qualifications. This role may also be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on company performance.

Full-time employees are eligible for a range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, disability coverage, and paid time off, which includes vacation and sick leave. Additional benefits include six weeks of paid maternity leave and two weeks of paid parental leave, along with six paid holidays each year.
