Checkout Specialist

As a Retail Cashier at Workman's Travel Centers, LLC, you will be responsible for managing all checkout operations within our 24-hour facility. This includes handling a variety of products such as lottery tickets, tobacco items, fuel, and convenience goods. To comply with Federal and State regulations, applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical abilities, ensuring accurate change returns, and demonstrate a high level of trustworthiness.

• Conduct all checkout processes, including scanning items, determining prices for non-scannable products, and processing payments in various forms.
• Provide a welcoming experience for customers by greeting them warmly and maintaining eye contact.
• Understand and manage procedures related to lottery sales, including scratch-offs and online games.
• Maintain familiarity with store layout and product offerings.
• Verify identification for customers appearing under the legal age for tobacco and alcohol purchases, adhering to store policies and legal requirements.
• Refuse sales of tobacco and alcohol to individuals under the legal age or without proper identification.
• Accurately handle cash transactions and refunds.
• Ensure the authenticity of currency for larger denominations.
• Follow established protocols for cashing checks.
• Complete all necessary legal documentation for the sale of restricted products.
• Accept and process coupons as per store policy.
• Assist in stocking tobacco products according to company guidelines.
• Follow procedures for opening and closing the cash register at the start and end of shifts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Participate in scheduled employee meetings and contribute suggestions for operational improvements.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to accurately process payments and provide change.
• Strong customer service orientation.

• Proficient in operating cash registers and related equipment.
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift items up to 50 lbs.
