SAP Financial Systems Administrator

The SAP Financial Systems Administrator will be responsible for overseeing system operations and project initiatives related to designated applications. This role involves the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of application programs, particularly focusing on SAP FI, In-House Cash, Coupa, Concur, and Vertex.

In this capacity, you will provide expert guidance to the Treasury, Accounting, Finance, and Tax (TAFT) departments, aiding in problem resolution and serving as a resource for training initiatives. Responsibilities include application planning, execution, and support, which encompasses system maintenance, configuration, updates, integration, change control administration, functional support, and the implementation of new features. Additionally, you will act as a business process authority, supporting all facets of financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in SAP GL, AP, AR, FM, Automatic Payment, FICO-MM Integration, FICO-SD Integration, Electronic Bank Statement, In-House Cash, Concur, Coupa, and Vertex.
  • Assist in processes such as Payment Enablement, Closing Schedule Establishment, Period Closure, Year-End Adjustments, Balance Carry Forward, Year-End Closure, and 1099 Processing.
  • Analyze detailed system requirements based on business needs articulated by the TAFT teams.
  • Configure and test system modifications to facilitate new development, enhancements, and production support.
  • Draft functional specifications for ABAP developers regarding custom modifications.
  • Provide expertise for impact assessments and testing related to SAP AOPs (Add-on Packs) and SAP Release upgrades.
  • Support the creation and execution of Enterprise Test scripts.
  • Address issues reported by end-users through the Help Desk, resolving problems and closing tickets efficiently.
  • Ensure smooth transitions from development to production, adhering to TAFT protocols and tools such as process control points, reports, and automated monitoring.
  • Regularly communicate status updates and escalate issues/risks as necessary. Proactively identify and mitigate potential problems and obstacles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and TAFT teams to prioritize and reprioritize tasks as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including TAFT and IT applications and infrastructure teams.
  • Engage in requirements gathering and the drafting of User Stories or Technical Specification documents.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on quality, stability, usability, maintainability, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance application programs within a collaborative team environment utilizing various development tools.
  • Prepare systems for monthly closing activities, including data preparation, process management, and updating system task flows.
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of monthly closing processes across all systems.
  • Conduct training sessions for end users.
  • Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service.
  • 5 to 7 years of IT experience with relevant expertise in finance and accounting application support and/or implementation.
  • Experience should encompass business process design, requirements gathering, and gap analysis.
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 Hana FI/CO Configuration.
  • Familiarity with Coupa or Ariba is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including formula creation, pivot tables, and v-lookups.
  • Experience with Oracle Shared Services and Life Cycle Management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset with a focus on quality. The individual must be capable of identifying logical approaches to business solutions.
  • Experience in SAP S4 Hana configuration and testing.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly in customer interaction and presentation.
  • Ability to work closely with end users to translate business challenges into system requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate specific project segments or work processes.
  • Involvement in configuration, testing, maintenance, enhancements, and support activities.
  • Evaluate user change requests and secure necessary approvals for modifications.
  • Facilitate project planning sessions with team members to analyze business and technical requirements.
  • Conduct unit testing to verify that applications meet specifications.
  • Experience in various SAP domains, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Special Purpose Ledger, Consolidation, Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, In-House Cash, Internal Orders, and Concur.
  • Strong understanding of SAP FI/CO configuration, integration, training, testing, and implementation, along with knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and data validation.
  • Ability to ask insightful questions of functional users to clarify business requirements and translate them into design.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accurate data maintenance and documentation.
  • Excellent documentation capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
