ROLE SUMMARY

This Operations Training position can be filled at either the Operations Training Specialist Level or the Senior Operations Training Level. Below are the minimum qualifications for each level.

Salary Expectations:

The anticipated salary range for an Operations Training Specialist is between $105,300 and $117,000 annually, contingent upon experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k) plan.

The anticipated salary range for a Senior Operations Training Specialist is between $130,500 and $145,000 annually, contingent upon experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k) plan.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

  • Exhibits a high level of expertise and extensive knowledge in executing tasks related to the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and suggested modifications of plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs.
  • Enhances station and personnel performance through effective training. Organizes and delivers performance-based licensed or non-licensed training programs as dictated by the user community, adhering to Constellation's TSD model and departmental protocols, while properly applying the phases of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ensures that training programs remain up-to-date, integrating insights from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, Constellation NERs, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, along with changes in plant design, procedures, regulations, and training effectiveness assessments.
  • Develops trainee assessments and conducts evaluations across classroom, laboratory, on-the-job training, and simulation environments as necessary, while also facilitating counseling sessions for trainees, assessing outcomes, and recommending or creating tailored training programs.
  • Provides support to the station and fleet in business initiatives, project management, refueling outages, emergency preparedness duties, and special projects.
  • Participates in audits conducted by NRC, INPO, and management, preparing responses to audit findings.
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of plant operations and relevant skills and techniques necessary to develop and deliver effective, high-quality training.
  • Oversees the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports required to document training program activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR OPERATIONS TRAINING SPECIALIST

  • Associate's degree in science/engineering or Education/training with 4+ years of relevant industry experience or technical background, OR
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience or technical background, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Education/Training with 2 years of teaching experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENIOR OPERATIONS TRAINING SPECIALIST

  • Current or previous senior reactor operator license, OR
  • Previous reactor operator experience with 4+ years of relevant industry experience (must achieve SRO certification within 18 months), OR
  • SRO Certification with 4+ years of relevant industry experience and 6 months of proven teaching experience in LORT or ILT.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or Education/training.
  • 6+ years of training experience in a nuclear power plant setting.
  • Current or previous senior reactor operator license.
  • SRO Certification with 6+ years of relevant industry experience and 6 months of proven teaching experience in LORT or ILT.
