PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This role entails demonstrating a high level of expertise and extensive knowledge in executing tasks related to the analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and proposed enhancement of plant-specific nuclear licensed Operations training programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Enhances station and personnel performance through effective training. Coordinates and delivers performance-based licensed or non-licensed training programs as needed by the user community, adhering to Constellation's TSD model and departmental procedures, while properly applying the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases.
- Ensures that training programs remain current and incorporate insights from INPO Significant Operating Experience Reports, Constellation NERs, NRC Circulars, Bulletins, and Information Notices, plant design changes, procedure revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness assessments.
- Develops trainee assessments and conducts evaluations for classroom, laboratory, on-the-job training, and simulator settings, as appropriate, and holds counseling sessions for trainees, evaluates outcomes, and recommends or develops personalized training plans.
- Supports station and fleet initiatives in business projects, management, refueling outages, emergency preparedness duties, and special assignments.
- Participates in audits conducted by NRC, INPO, and management, and prepares responses to audit findings.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of plant operations, disciplinary skills, and techniques, essential for developing and delivering effective, high-quality training.
- Oversees the collection and maintenance of auditable training records and reports necessary to document training program activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Operations Training Specialist:
- Associate's degree in science/engineering or Education/training with 4+ years of relevant industry experience/technical background, or
- 6+ years of relevant industry experience/technical background, or
- Bachelor's degree in Education/Training with 2 years of teaching experience.
Senior Operations Training Specialist:
- Previous or current senior reactor operator license, or
- Previous reactor operator experience with 4+ years of relevant industry experience (must achieve SRO certification within 18 months), or
- An SRO Certification with 4+ years of relevant industry experience and 6 months of proven teaching in LORT or ILT.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in science/engineering or Education/training.
- 6+ years of training experience in a nuclear power plant environment.
- Previous or current senior reactor operator license.
- An SRO Certification with 6+ years of relevant industry experience and 6 months of proven teaching in LORT or ILT.
