Behavioral Support Specialist

Pottstown School District is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Support Specialist to provide intensive behavioral support services to students throughout the district.

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Support Specialist will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement behavioral support plans for students that require consistent and significant behavioral support during the school day.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide intensive behavioral support services to students in-district
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to implement behavioral support plans
  • Meet all requirements of certification
  • Provide instructional support to students as needed
Requirements:
  • Clearances required (Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151)
  • Physical and TB test must be presented prior to starting employment
  • Minimum of high school diploma and formal training in theories of Applied Behavioral Analysis, or Behavioral Support Interventions
  • Successful completion of certification training course and examination
  • A minimum of 2 years previous experience working with students who require behavioral support
Benefits:
  • 10-month position (193-day)
  • Benefit eligible (Medical, Vision, Dental, Prescriptions)
  • Eligible for $3,000/year in tuition reimbursement
