Position Overview

WSP is excited to announce an opportunity for a Full-Time Senior Fire Safety Consultant - Fire Protection Engineer. Join our dynamic team and contribute to innovative projects that address our clients' needs and challenges.


As a key member of our Fire Safety Team, you will engage in various projects, providing expert technical support and guidance for comprehensive fire protection and life safety systems across diverse sectors.


Key Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough research, design, and planning for the implementation of fire safety systems, including automatic sprinkler systems, fire alarms, and smoke control measures.
- Review architectural plans to ensure compliance with relevant building and fire safety regulations.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities to negotiate fire safety designs and proposals.
- Develop fire safety strategy documents to support design processes.
- Perform fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis, with minimal supervision.
- Assist in the commissioning of fire protection systems in various facilities.
- Directly engage with clients to understand their needs and expectations.
- Organize and manage in-house resources effectively.
- Ensure adherence to quality control processes for all project documentation.
- Prepare project proposals and manage budgets efficiently.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and specifications.
- Participate in departmental initiatives and contribute to business development efforts.


Qualifications

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in fire protection and life safety consulting.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- Proven experience in managing projects and teams within a fire consultancy environment.
- Proficiency in fire protection engineering design applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DOD/Federal projects.
- Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Previous supervisory experience.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $85,300 - $160,000, depending on the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
