Position Title: Senior Engineer for Fire-Life-Safety Systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the upkeep of fire-life-safety systems
  • Evaluate fire protection designs and construction proposals
  • Facilitate and assist in the testing of fire-life-safety systems
  • Engage with various departments and external stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols
  • Support initiatives for sustainability
  • Participate in opportunities for professional advancement
  • Perform additional tasks as required

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent licenses. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Fire Protection Systems Engineering, ideally within a transit context.

Licenses/Certifications: A Washington State Professional Engineer license with fire protection endorsements is required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of fire protection codes and standards
  • Competence in electrical engineering principles
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience in testing and commissioning processes
  • Familiarity with modern office practices and software

  • Work in both office and transit system field settings
  • Possible exposure to various hazards
  • Ability to perform manual tasks and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds
