Time Commitment: 20-30 hours per week

About Generation Hope:

Generation Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering student parents to achieve success and economic advancement. We collaborate with educational and policy partners to foster systemic change while providing comprehensive support to teen parents in higher education and their children through holistic programming. Our impact includes over $1.3 million in tuition assistance, support for over 430 teen parents, and the celebration of more than 170 degrees earned through our initiatives.

Role Responsibilities:
The Program Intern will play a vital role in the development, coordination, and execution of programs and activities tailored to the needs of Generation Hope Scholars and their families, sponsors, staff, and volunteers. This position involves working closely with the program team and providing essential support to Generation Hope staff. The intern will also have the chance to design and implement a project of their choice, which may include creating new resources for Scholars or developing training components.

Key Duties:

  • Manage logistical aspects of program activities, including family dinners, field trips, and participation incentives.
  • Assist in maintaining Scholar and Sponsor records and database files.
  • Support marketing efforts to promote the Generation Hope Scholar Program within the community.
  • Track program participation and prepare necessary reports.
  • Attend meetings and document key discussions.
  • Compile weekly updates for Scholars regarding upcoming events and resources.
  • Assist the Senior Early Childhood Manager with data collection and metric dashboards.
  • Help organize community events and activities.
  • Participate in various program events and ensure effective engagement.
  • Support childcare during events as needed.
  • Contribute to maintaining and updating program resources.
  • Assist with organizing educational materials and activity plans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; preference for candidates with some college experience in relevant fields such as Early Childhood Development, Education, Family Studies, Social Work, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications, with a willingness to learn new software.
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with Scholars, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to the internship schedule for the program duration.
