Job Summary:

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator for the Refugee Resettlement Academy. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive program aimed at promoting the well-being and self-sufficiency of refugees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct outreach to community organizations, resettlement agencies, and stakeholders to gather feedback and insights on program components.
  • Develop and finalize program curriculum, learning objectives, and e-learning content in collaboration with consultants and experts.
  • Establish mechanisms to assess student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of the program.
  • Launch and manage a dedicated webpage for the Refugee Resettlement Academy on the USCCB's resource website.
  • Develop marketing materials and create referral pipelines to promote the program and attract participants.
  • Design and implement processes for post-program graduation career-based goal plans, including mentoring, resume assistance, and job shadowing opportunities.

Program Operations:

  • Market the Refugee Resettlement Academy to relevant partners, including affiliates, national and local resettlement agencies, and ethnic-based community agencies.
  • Attend working groups and meetings to represent the RRA and USCCB/MRS.
  • Onboard program students, including initial assessments and career-based goal plans.
  • Contribute to program enrollment and benchmark completion, and adjust curriculum and processes accordingly.
  • Develop educational materials and resources relevant to the RRA, and work with external graphic designers as needed.
  • Serve as the lead facilitator for RRA workshops, utilizing a dynamic and participatory style.
  • Collaborate with community organizations to develop and facilitate specialized workshops on topics such as domestic violence and mental health.
  • Work with students to create and achieve career-based goal plans, and connect them with work experience activities like mentoring, resume assistance, and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Respond to requests from federal funders and provide significant contributions to funder reports.
  • Set up systems and collect required data, and participate in on-site and remote monitoring visits as needed.

Public Engagement/Program Advancement:

  • Work closely with the Diocesan Advisory Group to gather information and refine the program.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to present information about the Refugee Resettlement Academy at conferences, universities, and community-based organizations.
  • Engage with refugee-serving organizations, State Refugee Coordinators, and other key stakeholders to advance program expansion efforts.

Supervision:

  • Manage and supervise volunteers, interns, and temporary workers for special projects identified by the Coordinator for the Refugee Resettlement Academy and/or their supervisor.

Decision Areas:

  • Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director for the Refugee Resettlement Academy, the CRRA has significant latitude in making decisions and recommendations affecting the program, including technical assistance and training, external representation and collaboration, and program administration.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree desirable, plus 3 years' experience in a related field.
  • Major Field/Specialty: Social Work, Program Management, International Development, Forced Migration, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a related field.

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is $67,637, with an upper range of $84,519.
