Reports to: Senior Early Childhood Manager

Time Commitment: 20-30 hours per week

About Generation Hope:
Generation Hope is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering student parents by providing them with essential resources and support to achieve educational success and economic advancement. Our holistic programming is designed to benefit both teen parents and their children, fostering a two-generation approach to education and community engagement.

Role Summary:
The Program Intern will play a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of various programs and activities tailored to meet the needs of Generation Hope Scholars and their families. This position involves collaboration with the program team and providing essential support to staff members. The intern will also have the unique opportunity to conceptualize and implement a project aligned with their interests, which may include developing new resources or enhancing training components.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage logistical aspects of program activities, including family gatherings and educational excursions.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records and databases for Scholars and Sponsors.
- Promote the Generation Hope Scholar Program through community outreach initiatives.
- Monitor program engagement and compile necessary reports.

  • Document and summarize discussions from program meetings.
  • Prepare weekly communications for Scholars regarding upcoming events and educational resources.
  • Support data collection efforts and create visual dashboards to track program metrics.

- Contribute to organizing seasonal events and activities.

- Actively engage in various program-related events and ensure participant incentives are distributed.

- Assist with childcare during events as needed.

- Help maintain and update the resource repository for the Scholar Program.

- Support the development of educational materials and activity plans for younger students.

- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; preference for candidates with some college experience in relevant fields such as Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Work, or related disciplines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications, with a willingness to learn new software.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects independently.

- Must have reliable transportation for commuting to events.

- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with Scholars, staff, and external partners.

- Commitment to the internship schedule throughout the program duration.
