Position Overview

Nixon Power Services, a leader in the distribution of Kohler Power generators, is seeking a dedicated Accounting Specialist to enhance our financial operations. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic workplace where adaptability and a proactive mindset are essential.

As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our Credit inbox, processing transactions, and addressing customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess a solid accounting background, demonstrate effective collaboration across departments, and show a commitment to personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a credit mailbox for both internal and external communications.
  • Facilitate the processing of credits and debits on customer accounts to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Handle refunds for customer account overages.
  • Maintain and update tax exemption records for customers, providing assistance with inquiries.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests and questions.
  • Generate monthly invoices for customers utilizing Nixon's CRM system.
  • Support the preparation of monthly billing statements.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of accounts to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Reconcile internal accounts related to non-customer-facing billing, such as warranty claims.
  • Update and maintain customer files in Accounts Receivable, including onboarding new clients.
  • Address customer account issues related to invoice payments.
  • Process requests for certificates of insurance, W-9 forms, and other invoicing documents.
  • Assist with customer and project setups for new initiatives.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Understand collection processes for overdue accounts.
  • Complete other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable or Collections is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
