Role Responsibilities

The Investment Sales Associate will undertake a range of designated tasks under the mentorship of the Sales Manager and Senior Sales Officers. This role includes participation in a comprehensive training program aimed at equipping the associate for a future as an Investment Sales Officer. The associate will focus on acquiring knowledge and fostering relationships throughout the training period to effectively represent a broad spectrum of fixed income expertise. This includes engaging in 'Institutional Sales Officer New Hire Training' and advanced training sessions known as 'New Hire Development' (NDP). The Investment Sales Associate will receive targeted training and support centered on the Fixed Income market, covering areas such as: sales techniques, client presentations, marketing approaches, objection handling, networking, industry insights, compliance, and client relationship management.

  • Developing relationships and expertise in the fixed income sector
  • Gaining comprehensive knowledge to represent the fixed income lifecycle
  • Familiarizing with the customer base of Investment Sales Officers
  • Delivering presentations and communications to clients
  • Engaging with potential customers regarding securities sales
Qualifications

This level of expertise is typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related field, along with 0-1 years of relevant experience in fixed income securities, or 4-5 years of experience in a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • General understanding of primary investment markets, products, and services, with the ability to assess specific customer needs, implement strategies, and offer suitable products
  • Basic knowledge of taxable and tax-exempt bond sales
  • Proficient PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications
  • Strong customer relations and sales abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Licenses/certifications such as MSRB Series 52, SIE Exam, NASD Series 7, and Series 63 must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
