Position Title: Fiscal Support Analyst

Overview: The Fiscal Support Analyst plays a crucial role in executing a variety of financial responsibilities that are essential for the smooth operation of an assigned department or program. This position involves researching financial data and preparing comprehensive reports, adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough research and analysis of financial data, developing or revising processes or policies based on findings.
  • Creates and maintains databases, spreadsheets, and other fiscal reporting tools, ensuring accuracy and quality assurance through regular audits.
  • Provides technical support to colleagues utilizing various databases and systems, including state accounting systems and general ledgers, assisting in problem resolution.
  • Records transactions in journals and ledgers, ensuring accurate balancing and reconciliation of entries.
  • Assists with various accounting functions, including budget preparation and fiscal year-end closing activities.
  • Generates monthly production reports, statistical analyses, and other scheduled financial reports.
  • May oversee the accurate and timely entry of payroll documents, purchase orders, and other procedural forms required by different departments.
  • May provide training and guidance to team members, establishing work plans and deadlines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess an associate degree in general business, business management, or a related field, complemented by three years of experience in fiscal operations. Additional relevant education or experience may be considered in lieu of the basic requirements, subject to approval.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient understanding of accounting principles and database management.
  • Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and policies relevant to the assigned section.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to comprehend technical documents.
  • Capability to conduct research, perform quality assurance reviews, and prepare detailed reports.
