Compensation: Hourly rate based on the current salary schedule of KCSCEP for Site Directors, commensurate with experience and site demographics.

Evaluation: Performance in this role will be assessed according to WV DHHR requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a minimum of 18 months of supervised relevant work experience.
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Complete WV DHHR Child Abuse & Neglect training.
  • Finish the WV DHHR Preservice Training modules on WV STARS.
  • Complete an ergonomic assessment at the Regulatory Training Center.
  • Adhere to all KCSCEP hiring practices, including criminal background checks, CPS background checks, drug tests, TB assessments, medical physicals, and required online staff development.
  • Ability to read, write, and execute assigned duties.
  • Capable of understanding and following both written and oral instructions.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office; able to learn child care software (Procare).
  • Sign a county AUP (Acceptable Use Policy).
  • Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and regular attendance.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Exhibit an interest in and enjoyment of working with children.
  • Participate in all mandatory staff training and meetings.
  • Recognize and proactively respond to safety hazards.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards.
  • Meet KCSCEP expectations for employees.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Site Supervisor, overseeing the daily operations of the program for grades kindergarten through fifth and managing staff.
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate daily activities, ensuring a written work plan is accessible to staff and parents.
  • Appoint a responsible individual to oversee operations in the Site Director's absence.
  • Ensure the supervision, safety, and care of children at the site.
  • Administer medication to children in accordance with WV Code.
  • Address practical problems in situations with limited standardization, consistent with the duties of this position.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain appropriate working relationships with children, parents, co-workers, and other school personnel.
  • Present information clearly and respond to inquiries from administrators, staff, and parents.
  • Refrain from acting as a group leader when more than 60 children are present.
  • Engage actively with the children.
  • Manage billing, collection, and processing of all fees using Procare and in accordance with Kanawha County Schools accounting procedures.
  • Prepare correspondence, monthly reports, receipts, time sheets, payroll sign in/out sheets, DHHR billing, supply orders, and other necessary documentation.
  • Organize and lead program activities effectively.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain a clean and structured environment.
  • Follow all safety regulations and use prescribed personal protective materials.
  • Address unforeseen crises associated with working with children.
  • Provide additional services to special needs children as required (e.g., feeding, diapering, etc.).
  • Uphold and enforce KCSCEP policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Program Coordinator or KCSCEP Director.
  • Be prepared to relocate to another site permanently if staffing requires it.
