Job Responsibilities:

In alignment with our Agency's mission to assist individuals with mental health challenges, we offer a comprehensive range of medical and support services for children, adults, and families across South Carolina.

This role is situated within the Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center, where you will be tasked with providing essential administrative support to the Intake and Emergency Services team.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Collaborating with the Administrative Coordinator to deliver administrative assistance for Intake and Emergency Services.
  • Engaging with clients and their families to facilitate the completion of all necessary intake documentation, including consent forms and insurance details.
  • Ensuring high-quality customer service through effective communication, both via phone and in-person interactions.
  • Performing data entry tasks into the Client Information System (CIS) and verifying insurance coverage through various methods.
  • Executing complex clerical tasks for program supervisors associated with the Assessment/Mobile Crisis Unit.
  • Assisting the Program Director with the preparation of monthly reports and hospital funding documentation.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

State Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma along with relevant program experience is required. A bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.

Agency Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma with two years of clerical experience; or an associate degree in a related field; or three years of clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Typing proficiency at a corrected rate of 35 words per minute.
  • Familiarity with contemporary office procedures and equipment, including personal computing and word processing.
  • Strong writing and grammar skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities and a knack for motivating and leading others.
  • Organizational skills with an emphasis on efficiency.
