Job Overview

Our client, a pioneering telehealth startup focused on enhancing men's health and wellness, is seeking a Director of Clinical Operations. This leadership role is essential for managing all facets of the Provider operations within our innovative PC Groups.

As the Clinical Operations Director, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effective management of our practice. Your responsibilities will encompass everything from initiating product discovery to understanding client needs and executing new operational processes.

This position is part of the Management Services Organization (MSO) and works in close collaboration with the PC group and its Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Development & Provider Engagement:

  • Collaborate with various departments to craft solutions that facilitate national expansion of our products and services.
  • Lead the process of customer discovery to pinpoint challenges and technical requirements of both providers and patients, aligning our offerings with their business goals.
  • Create persuasive demonstrations and business cases, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor and thought leader in the industry.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure cohesive solution design.
  • Collect and analyze customer feedback to shape product roadmaps and foster ongoing innovation aimed at enhancing provider and patient experiences.

Clinical Operations & Team Management:

  • Direct cross-departmental initiatives involving product, operations, finance, and clinical teams.
  • Guide and develop team members by providing clear instructions, constructive feedback, and encouraging teamwork.
  • Oversee clinical staff operations, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and compliance with policies.
  • Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of all clinical operational workflows.
  • Plan and manage the implementation of clinical staff policies and procedures.
  • Design and execute process improvement initiatives aimed at boosting provider and patient satisfaction, including follow-up and metrics.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, and training of clinical staff.
  • Foster a collaborative approach to patient care delivery in conjunction with Operations and Quality/Patient Safety teams.
  • Work alongside the Medical Director/President to review and update clinical policies and procedures.
  • Manage project modifications and interventions to achieve desired outcomes for provider-focused initiatives.
  • Utilize sound judgment to intervene with physicians when risk factors are detected.
  • Assess when personnel may require additional support in managing clinical procedures or emergencies, acting as a triage to initiate alternatives.
  • Identify training needs for clinical staff and ensure adherence to established healthcare service requirements.
  • Lead extensive product implementations, ensuring alignment with provider and patient needs.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Maintain open and timely communication across all organizational levels, including with providers.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders (Sales, Operations, PC Group) to promote growth through solution design and strategic positioning.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Operations teams to align strategies, forecast renewals, and identify account opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address complex customer challenges and deliver impactful solutions for providers and patients.
  • Act as the voice of the customer, advocating for provider and patient needs within the organization.

Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Drive enhancements in processes to improve service for providers, patients, and internal stakeholders as we scale.
  • Develop innovative methods to share data and insights with stakeholders to support their success, including providers.
  • Engage in R&D initiatives for both the Medical Group and MSO, focusing on optimizing provider workflows and patient care.
  • Identify opportunities to boost practice efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing medical practice operations, with a focus on overseeing provider operations.
  • Essential qualifications include:
  • Experience in telehealth within a consumer health organization.
  • Familiarity with a friendly PC model.
  • Proven track record in leading and nurturing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels, including with providers.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex processes and projects.
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare operations and regulations.
