Our Global Fund & Accounting Services: Alternatives Operations team manages over $110 billion in assets globally, focusing on Alternative Investments (AI). We adopt a proactive approach to alternative investments, developing vehicles that leverage emerging opportunities in rapidly evolving markets. Our strategies aim to provide returns with minimal correlation to traditional equity and bond markets, encompassing private equity, real estate equity and debt, hedge funds, and structured products. This position plays a vital role in a team dedicated to private credit vehicles, primarily investing in bank loans and bonds, with some involvement in private equity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all facets of portfolio valuation processes for private credit and associated equity valuations, collaborating with investment professionals and third-party services to ensure precise and timely valuation assessments and reporting.
- Guarantee the consistency, accuracy, and appropriateness of valuation methodologies, assumptions, and practices.
- Facilitate valuation committee meetings, steering discussions on valuation reports and pricing strategies.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of valuation policies, rationales, processes, overrides, and exceptions.
- Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
- Manage SOX processes related to valuations, including the completion of documentation requirements, processes, and testing.
- Conduct impairment and write-off analyses.
- Foster vendor relationships, perform periodic vendor evaluations, and conduct due diligence on both new and existing vendors.
- Execute or review periodic assessments on pricing quality.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MAcc or MBA preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, with direct involvement and demonstrated expertise in ASC 820 valuations.
- CPA or CFA designation preferred.
- Proven attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
