Position Overview

Role Title: Asset Management and Portfolio Strategist

Objective of the Position: In the capacity of an Asset Management and Portfolio Strategist, you will be integral to the financial oversight and operational management of our energy generation and storage facilities. This role requires collaboration with the Vice President/Director of Portfolio & Asset Management and cross-functional teams in Finance and Accounting to optimize asset efficiency and ensure regulatory adherence.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Oversight: Aid in the preparation and reconciliation of financial documents, budget management, and the creation of financial reports, including monthly updates for asset managers and communications for stakeholders.
  • Compliance Management: Assist in the administration of project licenses and permits, ensuring all regulatory compliance measures are met.
  • Contract Oversight: Manage and review various agreements, including Resource Adequacy, Power Purchase, and Gas Purchase contracts, ensuring all obligations are fulfilled.
  • Operational Assistance: Tackle operational issues such as outages and unexpected costs, evaluating their financial implications.
  • Risk Analysis: Review data from power generation assets to refine earnings forecasts and engage in risk evaluation discussions with project collaborators.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office applications.
  • Experience in constructing and managing intricate financial models.
  • Familiarity with project documentation and operational management.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a strong capacity for effective time management.
  • A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and a strong desire to learn.
  • Experience in the electric power generation sector, particularly in asset management or operational roles, is advantageous.
