As a Municipal Fixed Income Portfolio Strategy Analyst at Capital Group, you will leverage your expertise to contribute to the management and optimization of fixed income portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your extensive knowledge to implement investment strategies through collaboration with the Investment Group and Trading teams.
- Actively monitor and analyze portfolio risk and return metrics, generating comprehensive reports and developing spreadsheet models to assist investment professionals in their decision-making processes.
- Oversee cash flow management within portfolios, ensuring timely communication of priority needs to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Strategists and Fund Portfolio Managers to construct and replicate portfolios based on communicated investment convictions.
- Identify and evaluate primary and secondary market opportunities for investment transactions, ensuring alignment with predefined portfolio targets through effective modeling.
- Facilitate seamless order and trading activities among various stakeholders, including Trading, Fixed Income Investment Group, and Global Investment Control.
- Conduct quality checks and review oversight reports to ensure accuracy in the work produced by team members.
- Proactively identify and address process improvement opportunities, enhancing workflows and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a key resource for portfolio construction inquiries, providing expertise and guidance on complex matters to other business units.
- Analyze and propose restructuring options for existing portfolios and new client portfolios, particularly focusing on municipal bond positions.
Qualifications:
- 3-8 years of experience in the investment management sector, particularly with fixed-income assets.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and demonstrate sound judgment in resolving complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- In-depth understanding of index and active investment strategy replication, as well as Capital's investment processes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing projects within a team environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and analytical prowess in navigating complex and ambiguous situations.
