Job Description

MG2 Corporation is seeking a highly skilled HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources Team in Seattle. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in aligning human resources strategies with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of leadership, markets, operational teams, hierarchy, and MG2's culture to identify process improvements and areas where HR can align strategically.
  • Assist leaders with people planning, organizational development, staff development, culture building, and leadership.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention, and employee engagement.
  • Support key department processes such as the annual performance management cycle, goal setting, employment law compliance, policy development and updates, survey reviews, and new salary range evaluations.
  • Oversee HR processes for leaves of absence, workers' compensation, and other employee-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain content for internal HR communications, including the internal intranet.
  • Support the development and delivery of change strategy, providing clear communication, implementation steps, and measurement of key people initiatives/programs.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with Operations teams to communicate employment status changes, leaves, promotions, increases, and other employee-related matters.
  • Consult with managers and employees on HR-related inquiries, leaves, policy interpretation, and employee relations issues.
  • Be a trusted and confidential advisor and consultant, suggesting best practices to enhance working relations.
  • Manage sensitive workplace issues and conflicts, including performance issues and separations; lead internal investigations.
  • Work closely with leaders to develop job descriptions and maintain career paths and related materials, communications, and training employees and managers on effective implementation.
  • Partner with L&D to drive talent initiatives and roll out development and learning programs to ensure success.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and classify new and existing positions, analyze department leveling to ensure proper department structure.
  • Partner with leaders to proactively identify opportunities to improve policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison for immigration matters; oversee internal processes and manage external counsel processes.
  • Support equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions integration.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or related field, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, preferred.
  • HRCI PHR, SHRM-CP certification, or comparable required. Additional YOE may substitute.
  • 8+ years' experience in progressive HR required, preferably in matrixed (AEC) or professional services industry.
  • Knowledge in all areas of HR, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, leave management, etc.
  • Impeccable interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to effectively work well with and communicate with all employees and managers, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize, follow-through, multi-task, and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills.
  • Expert-level knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Strong time-management skills with a focus on deadlines and urgency.
  • Knowledge of or dedication to learning California, Canadian, and Mexican employment.
  • Prior experience as an HRBP in a HR team setting in a highly matrixed org.
  • Ability to collaborate and build consensus with cross-functional teams to deliver results.
  • Ability to manage change effectively, mindful of process and system implications; experience leading change management initiatives.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment; able to deal with ambiguity, as well as competing and shifting priorities. Must be open to guidance and direction from leaders.
  • Advanced HRIS, MS Office, and other business applications skill.
  • Sensitivity to confidential matters and ability to use discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Proven track record in an advisory role, with a track record of managing complex projects, influencing without direct authority, and driving strategic HR initiatives.
  • Strategic workforce planning and experience with change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and, at times, ambiguous environment, following direction from management and leadership.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and adhere to identified deadlines.

Salary Range:

  • HR Business Partner: $93,000 - $128,600.

Please note that this role is a salaried and exempt position, and therefore, is not eligible for overtime pay.

If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted. Acknowledging the time employees typically spend in the role, compensation is dependent on applicable years of experience and skillset.
