POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance Operations Supervisor is tasked with delivering essential technical support and leadership, while directing, facilitating, and coordinating the performance, development, and enhancement of the maintenance department.

This role is crucial in establishing a proficient, continuously evolving, high-quality maintenance workforce focused on enhancing equipment reliability at the most sustainable cost.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee all maintenance-related activities within the refinery.
Actively engage in safety initiatives to enhance, promote, and enforce safety protocols and policies.
Direct and manage maintenance resources to comply with and surpass all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Foster employee development and empowerment.

Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and devise appropriate repair solutions or preventive maintenance plans to mitigate and/or eliminate recurrence of issues.

Ensure the establishment of effective predictive and preventive maintenance programs aimed at minimizing unplanned shutdowns while continuously improving plant reliability, profitability, and product quality.

Implement and advocate for Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing methodologies to drive operational enhancements and boost efficiency.
Effectively manage labor resources, including monitoring and controlling overtime, to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
Ensure compliance with material and contract budgets while implementing cost-saving strategies wherever feasible.
Execute change management, best practices, and standardization of work processes within the scope of responsibility.
Regularly assess program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal reliability and cost benefits.

Evaluate personnel performance as needed to provide constructive feedback and discuss potential areas for improvement and growth opportunities.

Encourage a culture of teamwork through exemplary conduct, open communication, active listening, and prompt problem resolution.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 5+ years in maintenance, engineering, and/or operations management roles is essential.
3-5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

A Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from an accredited four-year institution; along with five to seven years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Availability and willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment as required to meet business demands is essential.
Strong organizational, planning, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary.

A proven track record in Safety, Reliability, Quality, and employee engagement, along with the ability to foster and develop maintenance excellence, is highly desirable.

Establishing credibility and respect throughout the organization is crucial.

LOCATION
Refinery operations are conducted in a designated area.

The anticipated salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
