Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment and facilities
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure equipment is functioning properly
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions of various facilities equipment
  • Construct, finish, install, maintain, and repair equipment, systems, and facilities related to various crafts
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in clean, safe, and orderly condition
  • Assist in removing snow and ice from hospital grounds when required
  • May be required to work as relief steam boiler plant stationary engineer on weekends, holidays, overtime, and off hours without advanced notice as needed

Requirements

  • High School graduate or High School equivalency diploma required
  • Current steam boiler station engineer's license required
  • One year of advanced trade school or three years experience in maintenance field required
  • Familiarity with tools, methods of many trades and knowledge of building and safety codes

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Mechanic will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment and potentially hazardous materials. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
