Position Overview:

The Culinary Services Supervisor I plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the food service team, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with fellow supervisors to maintain regulatory compliance in kitchen operations.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution among kitchen staff in collaboration with other supervisors.
  • Assume responsibility for creating weekly staff schedules in the absence of Supervisor II.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of catering events alongside other supervisors.
  • Report any operational issues or staff concerns to Supervisor II or the Director of Nutrition and Food Services.
  • Support the management of purchasing records and documentation for the department.
  • Help process invoices, maintain related records, and prepare monthly reports.
  • Oversee departmental records, including temperature logs, requisition forms, and menu files, ensuring accurate and efficient operations.
  • Generate labels and Nourishment Disbursement sheets for identifying prepared formulas and special dietary needs for children.
  • Assist in the management of cycle menus to meet diverse dietary preferences.
  • Collaborate with staff to create high-quality menus that cater to residents' needs, including dietary restrictions and cultural preferences.
  • Procure food, formula, and necessary materials for the department as required.
  • Supervise the tray assembly process during meal service to ensure quality and presentation.
  • Participate in meal observation processes to maintain service standards.
  • Communicate children's dietary preferences and needs to dietitians.
  • Attend required in-service training sessions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Dietary Management Course or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in food service within a healthcare setting, including at least one year in a supervisory role.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $30/Hr.
