Position Overview

This is NOT a Co-Op.

Core Responsibilities:

The IT Intern role provides essential support to the IT division at Best Point by managing various channels of communication for assistance throughout the operational day; promptly, courteously, and effectively. During each interaction for support, interns are expected to document, assess, and either resolve or escalate the issue to the relevant support team. This process necessitates strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to execute effectively. Additionally, interns will undertake other responsibilities, such as resetting passwords and meticulously documenting solutions and resolutions. This internship aims to be both educational and practical.


Support Functions

  • Delivers technical assistance to users by investigating and responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring optimal workstation and network performance.
  • Provides solutions to clients by diagnosing problems, researching answers, and guiding clients through corrective measures.
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of documentation and other IT-related client instructions.
  • Contributes to the development of client training and onboarding programs by identifying learning challenges and suggesting instructional language.
  • Enhances system performance by identifying issues and proposing improvements.
  • Stays updated on job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and maintaining professional networks.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Currently enrolled in a technology or IT certificate or degree program.
  • Previous experience in information technology or systems administration is preferred.
  • Familiarity with VOIP telephony, Microsoft Office, and mobile applications is advantageous.

Work Environment:

Exposure to a blend of office, educational, and mental health treatment settings. Interaction with children exhibiting behavioral challenges. Potential exposure to loud environments and distressed children.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While executing the responsibilities of this position: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
