POSITION SUMMARY: As a Lead Internal Auditor, your responsibilities will include:

+ Conducting assigned tasks throughout all stages of a comprehensive integrated audit, which encompasses planning, execution, reporting, and finalization; ensuring that audit activities align with departmental standards, budgets, and timelines.

+ Collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels to build rapport and secure agreement on evaluations and action strategies.

+ Exhibiting a thorough understanding of critical organizational risk domains, including financial, operational, and technological aspects.

+ Directing and assisting in detailed risk evaluations and process examinations, concentrating on both operational risk sectors and supporting technologies, while documenting (or reviewing documentation of) process narratives to guarantee that the audit team comprehends the processes in place to mitigate identified risks.

+ Developing, when suitable, executing, documenting, and supervising the assessment of business processes and IT general controls, including those addressing emerging and established risk areas and essential business applications. When necessary, oversee other auditors in fulfilling their assigned responsibilities. Testing conducted or supervised will involve the creation of supporting work papers that clearly outline procedures performed and any findings identified.

+ Ensuring that observations are thoroughly vetted and conducting a preliminary review of action plans to confirm that they address the risk and will be completed within a reasonable timeframe.

+ Composing formal written reports, conclusions, and recommendations regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and systems.

+ Utilizing a wide array of data analysis tools and techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit work.

+ Leading and/or supporting departmental initiatives aimed at simplifying and streamlining audit processes, including promoting simplification, the use of data analytics, and AI tools as applicable.

+ Conducting follow-up reviews to evaluate and report on the status and progress of management's action plans in response to internal audit observations and recommendations.

+ Setting a positive example and, when necessary, managing and mentoring other auditors throughout the execution of their tasks, providing constructive feedback and support, particularly to auditors with limited experience.

+ This role may involve limited travel in the future.

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualifications for a Lead Internal Auditor include:

+ A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, information systems, technology, or a related field.

+ An advanced degree and/or relevant professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CISM) is preferred.

+ A minimum of 4 years of relevant internal or external audit experience (preferably with a Big 4 or large regional firm) focusing on financial/operational and IT risk areas.

+ Proficient knowledge and expertise in audit methodologies, risk-based auditing techniques, and the COSO Internal Control Integrated Framework (2013), as well as The IIA's International Professional Practices Framework.

+ A background demonstrating knowledge of integrated control concepts and risk-based audit techniques.

+ Ability to create or modify risk-based audit programs and procedures as necessary.

+ Exposure to risk management, including Enterprise Risk Management, Fraud Risk Management, or Technology Risk Management, is advantageous.

+ A self-starter who excels in complex environments and challenging situations; must possess the ability to adapt to change swiftly and adjust work positively and professionally; capable of effectively managing multiple projects.

+ Strong technical skills and the ability to present complex information effectively and respond to inquiries from groups of managers and colleagues, both in writing and verbally.

+ A team-oriented individual who can also work independently when required.

+ Familiarity with agile concepts (agile audit, agile development framework, etc.) is a plus.
