Spectrum Laboratories, LLC is presenting a remarkable opportunity for a Chief Information Officer to become a vital part of our specialized family-owned enterprise. This role will entail overseeing the IT strategies of the company while engaging in a diverse range of initiatives to enhance and support the IT operations.

Role Summary:

The Chief Information Officer will act as the leader for our internal IT division. This individual will be accountable for directing daily operations while also coordinating efforts to fulfill larger-scale projects and strategic initiatives.

This position will play a crucial role in driving our business forward by leveraging technology to achieve greater operational efficiencies and executing essential IT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team and developers to ensure that software development aligns with specifications and timelines.
  • Oversee and ensure the reliable performance and delivery of core systems to established operational standards.
  • Manage the daily prioritization and coordination of tasks within the IT Support team, delegating responsibilities according to team members' skills and expertise.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and resources to achieve shared objectives.
  • Work with team members to establish best practices and requirements for software development.
  • Engage with stakeholders to set schedules and milestones for various projects.
  • Act as the technical and communication liaison between company partners and key office users regarding local IT matters.
  • Approve all final programs and products prior to their official launch.
  • Design and evaluate applications or systems to identify efficiencies.
  • Continuously seek innovative solutions to deliver effective and cost-efficient systems that adapt to changing business needs.
  • Provide regular updates to management and prepare comprehensive reports detailing achieved milestones and short-term project objectives.
  • Adopt a proactive approach to common challenges by consistently researching best coding practices.
  • Ensure software security by developing programs that actively monitor the sharing of sensitive information.
  • Quickly and efficiently troubleshoot coding issues.
  • Conduct research into emerging technologies, techniques, and computing approaches to better serve the organization.
  • Configure and maintain systems to integrate with business intelligence, order management, accounting systems, and other operational needs.
  • Mentor and coach members of the IT team.
  • Possess knowledge of comprehensive web design and development, including front-end and back-end processes, standards, and design constraints.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in modern SQL, PHP, CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript (jQuery), including mobile and responsive design.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing software applications.
  • Experience with large-scale software projects.
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
  • Demonstrated expertise in web applications, cybersecurity, and open-source technologies.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Excellent listening skills to accurately capture requirements from internal stakeholders.
  • Experience managing customized development processes for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional experience in analyzing code for vulnerabilities and overseeing improvement plans.
  • Experience in designing secure software systems based on industry-specific requirements.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate performance metrics.
  • Positive attitude towards organizational initiatives and developments, promoting a proactive mindset.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
