Position Overview: The clinical assignments for interns will encompass working with infants (dyadic), preschoolers, school-aged children, and their families. Interns may also engage with adolescents and families in a supportive clinic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Interns will contribute to the objectives of the YCS Institute by providing psychotherapeutic services under supervision, adhering to professional and ethical standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individual, dyadic (infant-parent), family, and group therapy, along with related mental health services.
  • Providing empathetic support to clients and their families.
  • Collaborating with clients and families to develop realistic and understandable treatment plans, in agreement with supervisors.
  • Engaging in direct service activities for 50-60% of the time.
  • Managing overall case responsibilities for assigned clients, including coordination with educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Effectively collaborating with other trainees, staff, referral sources, and social support networks to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Upholding patients' rights to fair treatment, self-determination, privacy, and civil rights.
  • Delivering psychotherapy grounded in sound clinical judgment and empathy.
  • Involving patients and family members in treatment plan development as clinically appropriate.
  • Executing case management functions to ensure coordinated treatment services through various linkages and referrals.
  • Administering diagnostic evaluations or specialized psychological assessments for clients as assigned, under supervision.

Administrative Duties:

Maintaining accurate client records and billing in compliance with YCS Institute policies is essential. Interns are expected to:

  • Submit billing for services rendered within 24 hours, ensuring all documentation is signed by the client.
  • Adhere to confidentiality standards in line with YCS Institute and regulatory requirements.
