The Registered Dietitian will primarily operate in an outpatient environment, providing comprehensive medical nutrition therapy assessments and tailored plans for patients, residents, and clients. This role includes education and evaluation services, ensuring optimal nutrition care through collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough nutrition assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to enhance patient care.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including chart audits and meal rounds.
- Educate patients and staff on nutrition-related topics and dietary restrictions.
- Document patient interactions and educational sessions accurately and timely.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's Degree in a nutrition-related field and have completed a Dietetic Internship. Candidates must be RD-eligible and pass the RD exam within six months of hire. A Master's Degree is preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of one year of relevant experience in nutrition is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Proficient in nutrition-related skills and basic computer applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive information and diverse populations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work collaboratively with team members.
Essential Functions:
- Foster effective communication with patients and colleagues, addressing concerns promptly.
- Utilize clinical reasoning to synthesize complex data and develop care plans.
- Support a positive learning environment through mentorship and educational opportunities.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain professional standards and dress code.
Compensation:
The hourly pay for this position ranges from $25.10 to $39.77.
