Position Summary:

We are seeking a talented and empathetic Senior Living Activities Coordinator to join our vibrant community at Studio Royale by Cogir. This role is essential in crafting a comprehensive program of enriching activities tailored to the diverse interests and well-being of our residents.

The Senior Living Activities Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization, and execution of individual and group activities, as well as special events that foster community spirit. This position also involves collaborating with the management team to ensure that all operational policies and procedures are effectively communicated and implemented. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee the hiring, training, and management of activity staff to meet program expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infuse energy and enthusiasm into all activities for seniors.
  • Oversee a variety of life-enrichment programs and outings that cater to residents' preferences.
  • Design and facilitate engaging activities such as arts and crafts, music, drama, educational sessions, and fitness programs.
  • Create and distribute a monthly newsletter and activity calendar, showcasing events and encouraging participation.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise activity staff and volunteers as needed.
  • Promote resident involvement and celebrate their accomplishments.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment through organized management.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to plan promotional events for the community.
  • Assist in budget development for the activities department.
  • Encourage family and community engagement through various initiatives.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of care and quality of life for residents.
  • Coordinate transportation for residents attending external events, which may involve driving a company vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in designing and leading activities for seniors in various living environments.
  • A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in senior living or related fields is preferred.
  • Preferred educational background includes an associate degree or higher in gerontology, business, or human services.
  • Experience in theater or film is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with dementia care practices is a plus.
  • Proven event planning skills are highly desirable.
  • Strong creativity and a passion for enhancing the lives of others, along with excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in various computer applications, especially Excel, Word, and Canva.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and lead meetings.
