Position Overview

As a Senior Visual Effects Manager at Apple TV, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our original content initiatives. This position involves overseeing visual effects production from the initial stages through to final delivery, ensuring high-quality standards and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise visual effects teams and personnel on designated projects, collaborating closely with the Senior Visual Effects Executive.
  • Manage the approval process for visual effects personnel and oversee budgetary considerations and timelines for various productions.
  • Maintain regular communication with visual effects producers and supervisors, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Analyze early scripts to determine visual effects requirements and assist in budget estimations, including special processes such as motion capture and pre-visualization.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with visual effects vendors and professionals to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Research and understand tax credit implications related to visual effects work.
  • Oversee all visual effects budgets, providing weekly updates to the Senior Visual Effects Executive regarding any changes in costs.
  • Participate in on-set activities for complex visual effects sequences and ensure adherence to contract specifications.
  • Coordinate visual effects turnovers for review and compile technical notes for all relevant departments.
  • Engage in industry events to stay informed about advancements in technology and processes, while also networking with industry professionals.
  • Implement Apple’s content security policies and assist with permissions for content usage.
  • Support marketing efforts by procuring materials from productions as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Visual Effects Executive or Consultant within a studio or network environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years in freelance visual effects roles on productions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the visual effects process and established connections with reputable facilities both domestically and internationally.
  • Strong expertise in visual effects for high-resolution content across various formats.
  • Proficient in scheduling and budgeting visual effects from pre-production through to delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the content pipeline from capture to final output.
  • Ability to build trust and foster relationships with productions of varying scales.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital filmmaking processes and specifications for premium content distribution.
  • Appreciation for storytelling and the values upheld by the Apple brand.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in executive post-production roles.
  • Proven ability to lead projects from preparation and bidding to final delivery.
  • Experience in script breakdowns for visual effects and providing technical notes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with Virtual Production techniques.
