The American Heart Association presents an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Manager of National Policy Research.

The National Sr. Director of Policy Research will spearhead the development of policies, provide research technical assistance, and oversee evaluation efforts for the initiative. This role is essential in centering the initiative's research endeavors around racial justice and equity, fostering research collaborations with volunteer committees. Additionally, the position entails offering scientific guidance and direction to both internal and external science personnel and volunteers concerning public policy activities related to children's health, starting from prenatal stages. The role will also involve consulting on various scientific aspects of public health and professional programs, publications, and digital communications within the health and science sectors. This position will exemplify the American Heart Association's dedication to advancing the child health movement by enhancing collaborations with various internal departments.

Responsibilities

Direct, guide, and collaborate with science volunteers within the American Heart Association and the National Collaborative for Infants and Toddlers to contribute to the creation of Voices/American Heart Association scientific documents, programs, and activities that align with the Voices Mission. Maintain expertise in cardiovascular and child health knowledge through reviewing scientific literature, establishing and sustaining professional consultation contacts, attending relevant meetings, monitoring legislative developments, and addressing inquiries from the public and professionals. Center Voices research and policy on equity and broaden research partnerships to ensure diversity and inclusivity. Write and edit science-related materials for Voices/American Heart Association professional channels and coordinate scientific reviews for Voices staff and grantees. Exhibit leadership by participating in the Voices management team and fostering a positive culture for Voices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory capacity Experience in: Coaching Others; Compliance Management; Compliance Risk Assessment; Coordination; Corporate Communications; Effective Communication; Government Relations; Industry Knowledge; Leadership; Planning and Organizing; Project Management; Regulatory Affairs; Regulatory Analysis; Regulatory Compliance; Regulatory Environment; Relationship Building; Team Management and Team Building

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range is $110,000 - $121,000, with compensation commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply.
