The Senior Engineer is a licensed Professional Engineer tasked with providing engineering support across various profit centers within the Fluid Solutions Division. This role focuses on fulfilling the engineering requirements of contractors, industrial, and commercial clients, thereby driving profitable engineering revenue for both the Division and the Company. This position relies on a combination of education, experience, and sound judgment to achieve its objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design dewatering systems, water/sewer bypass systems, mechanical flushing and purging systems, and other fluid management systems for diverse construction and infrastructure projects, delivering P.E. sealed/stamped engineering design plans and calculations for clients across designated locations.
  • Offer engineering consultation to sales teams on various projects.
  • Assess site conditions and devise effective water fluid management systems that enhance jobsite efficiency and practicality.
  • Create conceptual designs to aid in estimating and costing for control systems based on proposed designs.
  • Ensure that engineering drawings and plans are precise and adhere to relevant engineering design standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve issues that arise during field operations, recommending corrective measures.
  • Provide timely plans to branches and clients to sustain customer revenue and foster positive relationships.
  • Maintain an up-to-date NCEES record to secure professional licenses across multiple states, ensuring compliance with multi-state engineering requirements.
  • Educate and support Fluid Solutions sales representatives as needed, assisting them in their offerings to clients. Provide additional engineering support to regional vice-presidents, district managers, and branch managers as required. Complete necessary CPD hours to maintain licenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, structural, or civil engineering, or a related engineering discipline, along with a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a licensed engineer in a mechanical or civil engineering (water resources) environment.
  • Familiarity with closed-loop, hydronic HVAC, and geothermal systems.
  • Knowledge of AISC ASD or LRFD standards.
  • Understanding of basic structural engineering analysis and design standards.
  • Acquainted with basic soil properties, testing procedures, and interpretation of geotechnical data.
  • Proficient in OSHA Excavation Standard 1926 Subpart P and related regulations.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Mathcad, and MS Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Effectively collaborate with clients and sales representatives to conceptually plan and negotiate shoring system designs.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
