The Senior Engineer is a licensed Professional Engineer tasked with providing engineering expertise across various profit centers within the Fluid Solutions Division. This role focuses on fulfilling the engineering requirements of contractors, industrial, and commercial enterprises, thereby driving profitable engineering revenue for both the Division and the Company. This position relies on a combination of education, experience, and judgment to set and achieve objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design dewatering systems, water/sewer bypass systems, mechanical flushing and purging systems, and other fluid management systems for diverse construction and infrastructure projects, providing P.E. sealed/stamped engineering design plans and calculations for clients across designated areas.
  • Offer engineering advice to sales teams on various projects.
  • Assess site conditions and devise effective water fluid management systems that enhance jobsite efficiency and practicality.
  • Create conceptual designs to support estimation and costing for control systems based on proposed designs.
  • Ensure engineering drawings and plans are precise and comply with relevant engineering design standards and project specifications.
  • Identify issues that arise during field operations and propose corrective measures.
  • Deliver plans promptly to branches and clients to sustain customer revenue and foster positive relationships.
  • Maintain current NCEES records to secure professional licenses across multiple states, ensuring the necessary engineering licenses are in place to address multi-state engineering requirements.
  • Provide education and engineering support to Fluid Solutions sales representatives to enhance their offerings to clients. Additionally, offer engineering assistance to regional vice-presidents, district managers, and branch managers as needed. Complete the required CPD hours to maintain licenses.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, structural, or civil engineering, or a related engineering discipline, along with a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a licensed engineer in mechanical or civil engineering (water resources) settings.
  • Knowledge of closed-loop, hydronic HVAC, and geothermal systems.
  • Familiarity with AISC ASD or LRFD standards.
  • Understanding of basic structural engineering analysis and design standards.
  • Knowledge of fundamental soil properties, testing methods, and interpretation of geotechnical data.
  • Proficiency in OSHA Excavation Standard 1926 Subpart P and related regulations.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Mathcad, and MS Office (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and sales representatives in planning and negotiating shoring system designs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
