About the Role

Morning Pointe Senior Living is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of food and beverages are served to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Morning Pointe team to build strong relationships with residents and families, ensuring a smooth transition to our community and identifying individual needs and concerns.
  • Verify meal requests from residents and communicate with the cook to ensure timely preparation and service.
  • Brew coffee and tea as requested, and serve water and juice as needed.
  • Assist with serving meals as directed by the supervisor, maintaining a clean and organized dining environment.
  • Bus tables after meals, reset tables for the next meal, and refill condiments as needed.
  • Keep all counters in the dining room clean and wiped down, and change out fresh flowers as directed by the supervisor.
  • Prepare nourishments and snacks as requested, and assist with food preparation as needed.
  • Assist in serving meals and tray preparation for residents, and clean the dining room, tables, chairs, floors, and equipment.
  • Responsible for assisting with daily cleaning and weekly deep cleaning of the kitchen dish room, pantry, and dining room.
  • Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times, and report any hazardous conditions or equipment to the supervisor immediately.
  • Report all accidents or incidents to the supervisor on the shift in which they occur, and dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
  • Carry out special duties or projects as assigned, and maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
  • Knock before entering a resident's room when delivering or picking up trays, and report complaints to the Food Service Director.
  • Adhere to the facility dress code and attendance policy, and provide consistent customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
Physical Demands

This position is classified as HEAVY, requiring exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift/move objects. Functional requirements include constant standing and walking, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, turning, and stretching. Finger and hand dexterity are required, as well as visual and hearing acuity, and the ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
