Position Overview: We are currently seeking a part-time Nutritional Specialist to support our facilities. This role involves regular visits to our centers, along with the flexibility to complete documentation remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert dietary consultations in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate dietary records, including menus, cost reports, and work schedules.
  • Annually review and update the facility's dietary manual and policies.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and document progress notes as mandated by regulations.
  • Adhere to company policies regarding food and fluid management.
  • Contribute valuable insights to resident care plans and engage in care plan meetings.
  • Advise residents and families on dietary needs and therapeutic diets.
  • Process dietary changes and collaborate with Nursing Services for discharge planning.
  • Evaluate recommendations from various facility committees to enhance service quality.
  • Oversee dietary staff to ensure proper food handling and meal accuracy.
  • Assist in developing training plans for dietary staff and facilitate training sessions.
  • Monitor food quality and temperatures during meal production and service.
  • Assume leadership of the food service department in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
  • Review documentation by Clinical Dietetic Technicians for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding supplies and equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to speech therapy recommendations for dietary consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or a related field.
  • Registered Dietician with a current state license.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English clearly.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with nursing home regulations.
  • Genuine compassion for the elderly and individuals with physical or mental challenges.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
  • Compliance with all health regulations and successful completion of a post-employment physical exam, including drug screening and background checks.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodations.
