Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Service Maintenance Technician to join our team at ATS - Industrial Maintenance. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing expert-level break-fix and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform expert-level break-fix and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment, including observing devices in operation to identify root causes of problems, dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, and repairing or replacing defective parts.
  • Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items as necessary, and perform evaluations of alternatives to improve cost and/or reliability of equipment.
  • Independently perform maintenance as per industry standards, and work with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • May be required to set up and operate multiple machining operations, including lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts, and perform welding tasks.
  • Conform and comply with customer contractor codes of conduct, housekeeping standards, and safety processes, and document work performed in service reports and management systems.
  • Provide assistance to lower-level technicians and leadership to project teams, and perform expert functions as part of training and development.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex control systems to resolve in-depth software/hardware and configuration problems, and utilize advanced maintenance technologies to collect equipment performance data.
  • Complete and conduct on-the-job training and technical self-study programs for career development, and follow all safety-related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
  • Associates degree with a Technical focus and 10 years of related experience in specific industry; or, 12 years of experience in specific industry.
  • Possesses comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems, and can analyze problems, synthesize alternative solutions, and perform repairs.
  • Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate.
  • Extensive travel required (local, national, international).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in condition-based maintenance techniques, precision mechanical alignments, and maintenance of applicable process equipment.
  • Experience in programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical drive and motor systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.

Salary:

$42 - $50 / hr
