Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Officer to join our team at Citigroup Inc. This is a strategic professional role that requires a deep understanding of risk management principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze risk issues related to issue identification, root cause analysis, remediation, closure, monitoring, reporting, and escalation to ensure comprehensive and timely issue resolution.
  • Communicate risk and control environment to senior management through regular meetings and reports, ensuring awareness and proactive mitigation of potential risks.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for risk management functions and audit groups, ensuring timely and accurate provision of audit requests and information.
  • Partner with issue owners to develop and implement corrective actions, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to issue management and escalation policies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop approaches for addressing emerging issues and risks, ensuring a proactive and holistic risk management framework.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with multiple levels of management to drive remediation efforts, requiring strong communication, influence, and diplomacy skills.
  • Lead and execute workstreams, ensuring timely completion and delivery of high-quality output, while escalating challenges and producing relevant presentations.
  • Recommend updates to risk management partners to maintain a robust Managers Control Assessment (MCA) in compliance with Citigroup's Operational Risk Policy.
  • Lead or participate in enhancement and transformation initiatives to remediate identified gaps, ensuring project completion and special assignments as required.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing support to stakeholders and control functions on an ad-hoc basis.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in risk and controls, audit, or issues remediation function in a corporate environment.
  • Strong execution skills to timely address requests and deliverables.
  • Ability to independently handle problems and challenges as they arise.
  • Ability to provide independent point of view and share knowledge and implications of decisions made.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to see the big picture.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and policies and draw correct conclusions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization and across different geographic locations.
  • Adaptability and ability to drive change and guide others through a changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curious and open-minded, with the enthusiasm and confidence to challenge.
