Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Portfolio Manager with a strong background in Strategic Business Development, Account Management, and Client Relations. The ideal candidate will be tasked with overseeing client accounts, nurturing and enhancing client relationships, and spearheading business development initiatives. This role requires exceptional organizational abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to juggle multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a designated portfolio of client accounts, ensuring revenue retention and growth targets are met or surpassed.
- Expand our Federal and DoD client base by engaging with key decision-makers and identifying new business prospects.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities that align with the strategic growth vision of the company.
- Utilize existing contracts to identify and qualify new business opportunities, presenting these to corporate leadership for decision-making.
- Conduct regular account reviews to ensure alignment with client objectives and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Lead capture strategy development and provide critical insights to the proposal team based on market intelligence.
- Research competitors and market trends to inform strategic decisions and develop winning proposals.
- Document all capture activities and provide regular updates on the status of opportunities throughout the business development lifecycle.
- Implement strategic plans on a daily basis, organizing work, setting priorities, and determining resource needs.
- Monitor progress and evaluate outcomes to ensure objectives are achieved.
Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in business development.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Candidates without a degree must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated success in previous capture efforts.
- Five or more years of experience in portfolio management and business development within government sectors.
- Strong understanding of industry practices and trends.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with leadership.
- Willingness to travel for client engagements and industry events.
- Experience with GSA Schedule contracts.
- Ability to develop innovative strategies for successful bids.
- Active Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
