Position Summary

The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, renowned for its excellence in training healthcare professionals and advancing medical research, is looking for a dedicated HR Consultant. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive human resources support for the College of Medicine and UC Physicians, Inc. The selected candidate will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes exceptional service delivery and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Human Resources, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with various departments to assess business needs and HR implications, serving as a trusted resource for faculty and staff regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Develop and manage HR processes, documentation, and databases to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with department leaders to identify recruitment needs, manage the hiring process, and facilitate onboarding for new employees.
  • Oversee initial faculty appointments and manage the onboarding and exit processes for faculty and clinical staff, including visa applications for international hires.
  • Provide guidance on benefits and compensation, generate analytical reports on recruitment and retention, and manage payroll processes.
  • Make informed recommendations regarding compensation adjustments based on thorough data analysis.
  • Advise on leave policies and employee rights, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Support departments during terminations and organizational changes, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all HR matters.
  • Perform additional duties as required by departmental needs, with the understanding that this job description may evolve.

Required Qualifications

For HR Consultant

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience or equivalent specialized training.

For Senior HR Consultant

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least eight (8) years of relevant experience or equivalent specialized training.

Experience Requirements

For HR Consultant

Three (3) years of relevant Human Resources experience.

For Senior HR Consultant

Four (4) years of relevant Human Resources experience.

Work Environment

Office-based environment with no unusual physical demands.
