Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) seeks a dedicated and experienced Strategic Human Resources Leader to join our team.

Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this role is instrumental in shaping CMHA's human capital strategy and ensuring its alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that foster a positive and productive work environment. Contribute to long-term planning initiatives and policy development to enhance employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Oversee the full recruitment and selection process, from sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and making hiring decisions. Develop and maintain effective talent management strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent within CMHA.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to managers and employees alike. Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations, and handle disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Partner with department heads to identify training needs and develop programs that enhance employee skills and competencies. Implement initiatives to cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional development within CMHA.
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave administration, and workers' compensation. This includes claims resolution, change reporting, invoice approval, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct complex investigations related to employee misconduct or complaints, including but not limited to sexual harassment and employment discrimination. Provide support and counseling regarding personnel and job-related conflicts, problem-solving, and dispute resolution.
  • Supervise HR staff and ensure the efficient operation of the Human Resources department. Stay abreast of current HR trends and best practices.
Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Significant experience in a human resources leadership role within a large organization is essential. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices is required. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are crucial for success in this role.
