Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Director of Nursing Professional Development Innovation to join our team at Emory Healthcare. This is a full-time position that requires occasional travel to various healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance nursing professional development and career advancement.
  • Lead and inspire a team of nursing educators and professional development specialists.
  • Collaborate with senior nursing leadership across hospitals, clinic practices, and service lines to integrate innovative professional development initiatives with broader organizational strategies.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate innovative professional development programs, including mentorship, residency, and leadership development programs.
  • Utilize cutting-edge practices and technology to support the continuous professional growth of nursing staff.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to professional development and career progression.
  • Develop and maintain clear, structured career pathways for nursing staff at all levels in partnership with EHC Human Resources.
  • Provide resources and support for nurses to pursue advanced education, certifications, and specialty training.
  • Facilitate internal mobility and career progression opportunities for nursing staff.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of educational programs and training initiatives to ensure nursing staff are competent in current clinical practices, digital integration, and emerging trends.
  • Develop and implement continuing education programs to meet the needs of nursing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with continuing education and certification requirements.
  • Establish and maintain mentorship programs to support the professional growth of nursing staff.
  • Provide coaching and career counseling services to help nurses achieve their career goals.
  • Foster a culture of mentorship and peer support within the organization.
  • Promote and support innovative learning methodologies and technologies in nursing education.
  • Lead research initiatives to explore new approaches to professional development and career advancement.
  • Implement innovative tools and digital platforms to enhance learning and development experiences.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, HR, the CNOs, and external stakeholders on matters related to professional development and career advancement.
  • Represent the organization at professional conferences, workshops, and other industry events.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions and professional organizations to support nursing education and development.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all professional development and career advancement initiatives.
  • Ensure that programs and opportunities are accessible to all nursing staff.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs and aspirations of nursing staff.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field. Doctorate strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on professional development and career advancement.
  • Current RN license and certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD-BC) or related specialty preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in development of digital competencies for nurses.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in educational program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to drive change and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
